If the Government started informing us this week that they will be taking over the total education of your children within one month, how would you react?
This would include visual and audible teaching and training on what they should believe about all things. Not just their ABC’s, Reading and Math but about; morals, politics, spirituality, physical and mental health, sexuality, family, fantasy, imagination, how to control their emotions, appropriate and inappropriate emotions, eliminating fear, the modern idea of right and wrong, acceptance of things that make them uncomfortable, who the enemy is and who the enemy is not, how to do triage in their lives about what is important and what is at the bottom of the list, how they should feel about themselves and their own importance, etc...
This indoctrination would take place on a daily basis, every day of the week. While physical education would be taught and exercise would be encouraged, there would be no time set aside for these activities. Great things about nature, natural resources and our earth’s ecosystem would be taught and outdoor exploration would be idolized but there would be no time for that either. Some of you might think that this is a great idea and that the Government should have started doing this years ago, and if you think that way, then you have already been indoctrinated by this method yourself.
Actually this system is already in place and has been in place for several years. It is currently doing the job that it was, maybe unintentionally, meant to do. It is called Television, Movies, Video Games, Books and the Internet.
The problem is not with these devices in themselves but with the who that is behind them putting their opinions and ideas into your child's fertile and eager mind. It may not be the government who is producing this curriculum that is being poured into your child's brain everyday but who exactly are you letting educate and raise your children? If the government decided to do this we would be up in arms but because it is someone that we don’t see or know, that makes it safe?
Parents are too busy with their own lives to educate their children. They have jobs, TV shows, Facebook, YouTube, Movies, parties, games, friends, and of course they have to have their own “Me time”, as if they weren’t spending all of their time on themselves anyway. So, they park their kids in front of a TV, Video game, iPad, iPhone or Computer and they have a built-in babysitter. All the time not realizing what their children are learning from these hidden people who have all of their kid’s undivided attention.
Don’t think that you can stick a book in your child’s hand and feel better about yourself or buy them an eBook reader to get them away from the TV and Video games. Books are just as bad, if not worse. With the new digital books comes a new danger. Anyone and I do mean anyone can write a children’s or young adult book now. There are no editors or publishers needed. You can just stick your agenda into a children’s book and put it up on Amazon. Parents will download it because it’s free or cheap and without reading it themselves, put it on their kid’s Kindle or Nook.
So what can we do? Get your children out in the world and out into life. They need to learn things with you and from you! Spend time with them, teaching them things that you learned in your pleasant memories from childhood. Let your kids go outside, ride a bike, roller skate, horseback ride, jump rope, go barefoot, catch frogs, catch lightening bugs, swing, play in a creek, swim, fish, camp, get dirty. Spend hours each week with your children focusing on them and not on your smart phone.
Don’t let them read a book that you haven’t read first. Don’t let them play a video game without your supervision. Don’t let them watch anything that you haven’t watched first. Don’t trust the internet or TV with your child just because you need some “Me time”.

Federal Government Acts Against Trojan; Some Users May Lose Internet Access Monday!
Here is the McAfee test for this Trojan:
Here is the McAfee test for this Trojan:
Find out if you have been infected with the DNSChanger virus
This test only takes a second (even on a dial-up) and it could save you a lot of grief on Monday when they shut the bad DNS servers down. If you are infected, it will tell you what to do next.

Tea Party
I am so happy that these tea parties are going on. There wasn't one going on where I live unfortunately, at least that I know about. It is about time that we try to take back our lives. Government is getting out of control and way too big. They are intruding in our lives too much.
There seems to be an attitude of self preservation out there and that is good. We have to start fighting for ourselves. We have to start taking care of ourselves without politicians making our decisions and deciding what is best for us. We work hard for our money and should be able to decide what to do with it.
If we own land and livestock we shouldn't have to ask permission before doing anything with it. We are adults and shouldn't be treated like children. I know that we have to have laws and a governing body but some laws and lack of laws are just ridiculous.
For instance, why do we have laws that require child restraints in cars but no laws against stupid parents smoking in that car with the windows rolled up and children strapped in those car safety seats. I don't have a problem with cigarette taxes because I don't smoke but as long as cigarettes are legal, then people have a right to smoke but not if it is interfering with my clean air or the air that an innocent child or infant has to breathe.
I suppose that taxes are the main reason for these tea parties but I think that it is a good sign that we aren't as complacent as I thought the general US citizenry was getting to be. We still have a little fight left in us.

Horse Owners Stampede
I was shocked when I read the following article, has this country totally lost its mind? Our Government is sticking its nose into every area of our lives. We can kill our unborn children and I am sure that infanticide of aborted babies who survive the abortion process and euthanasia of the sick and elderly will soon be accepted practices.
The sanctity of human, God given life is no longer guarded or respected by our Government but the life and health of animals are becoming ridiculously guarded by our fearless leaders.
Oklahoma horse owners stampede Capitol | NewsOK.com
When you read the above article you will see that Oklahoma has made it a Felony to float a horse's teeth without a Veterinarian license. What you may not notice is that the law also includes shoeing horses and transferring embryos in cows.
A horse's teeth continue growing throughout their life and can get sharp edges, making it difficult for them to eat. This is corrected by a simple filing of the sharp edges. As far as shoeing goes, I don't know of any Vets who would even want to do that hard and back breaking job.
My Granddaughter currently has a loose tooth. We don't have to take her to a licensed Dentist to pull that tooth, we can pull it and it can cause her pain and it can bleed without being charged with Child Abuse or any type of felony. Oklahoma's horse owners cannot file their horse's teeth or hire someone other than a Licensed Vet to file those teeth. Floating teeth might be annoying to a horse but is not painful and there is no blood. What is wrong with this picture??
Can you even imagine a farrier being arrested and charged with a felony for putting shoes on a horse?

Right to Keep
The Associated Press: Guns Case Goes to Supreme Court
I'm no Supreme Court Judge, Lawyer, Scholar, or even of Male persuasion and I don't play any of these on T.V.
However, I can interpret the following sentence: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed"
This sentence has four separate parts, separated by commas, the second part more clearly describing the first part and the third part totally standing alone but also claiming ownership of all of the other parts.
The third part is the key to the complete sentence. The PEOPLE have the right to a well regulated militia, they have the right to the SECURITY of a free state, they have the right to KEEP and bear arms and they have the right for those RIGHTS not to be infringed upon. What is hard to understand here?
What was the purpose of a Militia in the first place? The purpose of a Militia was to keep others from imposing their will upon the People. There are those in this country who are constantly trying to impose their will upon others.
Whether you like it or not in order to maintain order, one must have weapons of some kind. We are so brainwashed in this country that we think that all that guns are used for is crime. That could not be further from the truth, throughout time weapons of defense have been necessary and one cannot depend on one's government to defend them at all times.
Independence is another key word to me, our government seems to wish to make us more dependent all of the time. They are trying to destroy the small farmer or people who might be able to support themselves without any government assistance. This includes regulating what lands can be used and what they can be used for. They want to tell us how to handle and sell our animals. The latest thing that has been pointed out to me is that seeds are being altered so that they will not germinate, so that you can't keep your own seeds from year to year and will have to buy new seeds every year.
I am so surprised that declawing cats has not been made illegal because we are so concerned about animal rights, but when it comes to human rights, those need to be limited and the government should control our lives because we are unable to govern our own lives. Banning guns is an issue of declawing us, of taking away our defenses.
9-11 comes to my mind as those poor people on those planes didn't try to take control of their own lives until it was too late. Because we are not conditioned to take care of ourselves, we trust others with our lives. We have been declawed and our gun free zones have become an easy place to prey on innocent victims. If the fox is in the hen house you don't turn your head and hope for the best, we have to take action.
Don't let the people who are scared of guns and have been conditioned to think that guns are a very bad thing take away your right to protect yourself and your property.
There are many more people in this country that own and handle guns responsibly than there are criminals that have guns who could care less about what laws are on the books or how the Supreme Court rules on this issue, as a matter of fact, they would love to see the United States of America completely disarmed.
I am one person who gets very annoyed when I am punished for other people's actions, especially when my punishment is enjoyed by those people who caused the problem in the first place. Criminals have caused the problem with guns and they are the only ones who will benefit from a ban of guns.

Walmart
Is it Wal-Mart or Walmart? Anyway, we had to go there yesterday, kicking and screaming all the way. But there was this big winter storm warning and we had to go there to get the essentials to make it through weeks of isolation and being stranded with no electricity. We got a toaster, a stick blender, a Crossman 760 Pumpmaster BB Gun, 6000 BB's, bread and Little Debbie's snack cakes.
I got the BB Gun because my eldest son said that we got him one just like it when he was very young and it lasted him his whole childhood, until his little brother blow it up. So he got his son one for Christmas and I went yesterday before the big storm and got me one.
We needed a new toaster because our ancient Toastmaster toaster had died. We looked over their selection, the features and prices, then manufacturer names: Toastmaster, GE, Hamilton Beach, Black and Decker. The one that we picked and put in our shopping cart was a Black and Decker, then we looked on the box and it said that it was made in China. So we put it back on the shelf and chose another and it too was made in China. We went on to the next one and you guessed it, every toaster that Walmart had on it's selves were made in China. So we held our noses and bought the Chinese Black and Decker toaster. They must have taller bread in China because we can hardly reach the toast when it pops up.
I remember the good old days when Wal-Mart used to sell items made in the USA and was proud to do it. I also remember the days when Wal-Mart used to have plenty of cashiers and no waiting. I think that our local store has like 26 check-out lanes and at peak times they have 5 of them open, the rest of the time they keep 2 open.
Of course that winter storm that was suppose to dump 6 inches of Snow and Ice on us never materialized. I think this is a conspiracy of the Government or Walmart to get people to run to the stores and buy Milk and Bread. This is a clever way for Walmart to make even more money or the Government to stimulate the economy. I wonder how much of a kickback the weather forecasters get?

Horse Slaughter
Horses surrendered by ranch owners
After reading the article above and talking to a friend on a message board, I got to thinking about this situation that we find ourselves in. My friend told me that it is getting hard to sell big dog breeds because of the cost of dog food, it is getting ridiculously high. Yet, the value of horses in this country continues to drop, due to the closing of slaughter houses, drought and rising grain and hay prices. Anyone can afford a horse now but few can afford to feed and care for that horse.
We have been offered some of the free horses out there, the ones that no one wants, these usually include the old, the impaired, or the young untrained horse. We have to face the facts that there are some horses that are unwanted, just like there are unwanted dogs or cats. However, you never see an unwanted cow or pig, I wonder why?
In the article that I posted above, the comment was made that they were taking these horses out of one rescue with no resources and putting them back into another rescue with no resources. Horse rescues are overwhelmed with a glut of horses and have no money to feed these animals. They are becoming like the animal shelters, who routinely euthanize or send their animals away to be euthanized. Our local shelter became a kill-free shelter for awhile, they quickly became overrun and full of disease.
I know this is an emotional issue but the cycle of life is just the cycle of life. Why do humans think that they are so smart that they can change the normal pattern of nature. All animals have a survival instinct, I believe God put it there so that they wouldn't quickly become extinct. But how do we know that animals really fear death? They may be like me and fear injury but death should just be another part of life. All animals go to heaven anyway, right? How do we know that they don't welcome death when it comes?
I don't think that anyone should have a voice in this debate that doesn't own horses, period. People tend to live in a dreamworld where all horses are majestic, beautiful animals that are the picture of health, running through open pastures and that just isn't reality.
We do run our horses on open pasture and they are fed very well, even our unwanted and useless horses are given the same treatment as our valued horses. But many people have horses that are stuck in small stalls most of the time and don't know how to properly feed them. All horses aren't healthy, many have arthritis or other crippling diseases. Some are just old and very skinny, we have had good horses here that once they reach a certain age and their teeth get bad, we just cannot keep weight on them even though they are eating twice or three times the amount that the other horses are eating. They are the ones that stay close to the road where people passing by can see them.
Another thing that is funny to me and I am as guilty of this as anyone else, but we think that a horse is not healthy unless it is rolling fat, but to be a healthy person we must be bone thin.
I just read another article about a man shooting his two horses and burning their carcasses, it made national news. They were trying to decide if he could be charged with anything. This was in Illinois where the last U.S horse packing company was closed down. What was he suppose to do? I don't know his situation but there are some people who don't have very many options.
You can't take your unwanted horses to a sale barn because they won't get a bid and you will have to pay a fee and take them back home (some are just leaving them at the auction barns). You can't afford to keep them anymore for the rest of there days, because you still have to feed your family. Rescues are turning them away or you just don't trust the rescues to take proper care of them. You are expected to euthanize your old or impaired horses but then what do you do with them? Rendering companies will no longer pick them up without a large fee, so unless you have a backhoe or are good with a shovel, I think burning is a reasonable alternative.
Feeding wildlife is another idea, it is the circle of life. We lost a wonderful old mare a couple of years ago, she just dropped dead going up a steep, rocky, wooded hillside. There was no way for us to get to her with a tractor and there was no way to dig a hole. So we had no options other than leaving her where she fell. It was amazing how fast she disappeared, even her bones and hooves were utilized. However, if she had been euthanized by injection this would not have been an option, they have to be burnt or buried very deeply. Many people live in states where they are not allowed to bury, burn or leave them lay.
Our Vet recently faced this dilemma, the rendering company that had always picked up the animals that he had euthanized at his office, would no longer pick them up. We haven't seen him for awhile, so I don't know what he has done about this.
I do love horses, I also love other animals, but I eat beef, pork, chicken and fish. The last time I checked these were animals with a survival instinct also. Whether you believe it or not the meat that you eat didn't just come from a grocery store, it was once a living creature.
Dogs, cats, tigers, lions, bears, humans, and other members of the animal kingdom have to eat, so why is this resource being wasted and this burden being placed on horse owners and rescues?
I am totally against horses being transported into Mexico or Canada to be processed. I think that processing plants should be regulated in this country but not just the horse processors, the standard should be the same for all animals.
Sometimes it is all in the terms we use, we don't mind eating beef that has been processed at a packing plant but we would never eat horse meat from a slaughter house. It is alright to euthanize an old horse with a needle but we mustn't kill them with a gun. I have heard and I don't know if it is true, that some Veterinarian's in other countries carry guns to euthanize with because they feel that the injection is cruel.
One more thing that I firmly believe, the Humane Society as a whole, I am not talking about our local shelter, is a money making organization that takes advantage of and uses big hearted people.
